
18 Mar THE FOUNDATION APPOINTS FOUR LOCAL LEADERS TO BOARD OF TRUSTEES
The Miami Foundation Board of Trustees appointed four new board members with expertise in health, finance, media and law. The new trustees are: Nelson L. Adams, M.D., president and founder of Metro-Miami OB/GYN Associates, P.A., Ben Beavers, chairman and founder of Gresham Partners, LLC, Carole F. Hall, a longtime community advocate, and Bobbie King, Jr., senior attorney at NextEra Energy Resources, LLC. Their deep knowledge of and experiences with local organizations championing the arts, education, children’s issues and economic development complement the current board’s visionary guidance of our rapidly expanding work.
Nelson L. Adams, M.D.
Nelson L. Adams, M.D., who serves as chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Jackson North Medical Center, is committed to eliminating racial and ethnic inequality in health. He is the chairman of the board of the Sunshine State Health Plan, trustee emeritus at Barry University and a member of the Orange Bowl Committee.
Ben Beavers
Ben Beavers is chairman and founder of Gresham Partners, LLC, one of the country’s top wealth-management firms, with more than 40 years of investment advisory and wealth management experience. Prior to founding Gresham, he was a principal at Brownson, Rehmus & Foxworth, Inc. Ben also served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Army.
Carole F. Hall
Carole F. Hall is a former associate publisher and editor-in-chief of general interest books at John Wiley and Sons, Inc. Prior to joining Wiley, she was executive editor of Touchstone Books, Simon & Schuster, Inc. Carole has chaired the African American Experience Fund of the National Park Foundation and served as a trustee of the Miami Art Museum and Pérez Art Museum Miami.
Bobbie King, Jr.
Bobbie L. King, Jr., Esq., is senior attorney for NextEra Energy Resources, LLC, specializing in mergers and acquisitions, capital markets and corporate governance. He currently serves as the chairman of the Miami Dade/Southeastern Advisory Board of the Children’s Home Society of Florida and as a director of the National Association of Urban Debate Leagues.
