15 May #OURMIAMI CONVERSATIONS: FOOD ACCESS IN THE COVID-19 CRISIS
Access to healthy, nutritious food is an ongoing challenge for residents in Greater Miami’s food deserts. Our area’s largest food bank reported that the need for support has more than doubled since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. In the first #OurMiami Conversation hosted by incoming president and CEO, Rebecca Fishman Lipsey, experts shared what’s happening on the ground with food security and how residents can help.
Featuring:
Paco Velez, President and CEO, Feeding South Florida
Vanessa Tinsley, Executive Director, Bridge to Hope
Ellen Bowen, Miami Site Director, Food Rescue US
The Miami Foundation’s #OurMiami Conversations bring together front-line, social impact experts to break down the biggest issues facing Miami-Dade County in the coronavirus response. They’ll share the reality of what residents face every day during this crisis and the solutions we need to recover and rebound after the pandemic. Like us on Facebook to follow the series.
