Here’s a rundown of the 2015 Challenge, which is open March 4th through April 5th for ideas that create, improve and activate Miami-Dade’s parks, plazas, libraries, community gardens and public gathering places. Together with Health Foundation of South Floridaand Baptist Health South Florida, The Miami Foundation will invest $305,000 to make the top ideas a reality.
Kickoff event: On March 4th, come celebrate what past winners have accomplished, hear about what’s new for 2015 and have some fun with like-minded Miami changemakers.
- 6 to 8 p.m., March 4 at Ball & Chain, 1513 SW 8th, Little Havana.
Idea Workshops: All successful public spaces put people first. Urban Impact Lab will take you through a people-centered design process that will help you learn how to best approach public space projects. You don’t have to come with an idea for the Challenge; the goal of the workshops is to provide attendees with tools and insights for how to best arrive at a project for their neighborhood. Come get engaged and inspired. Food and drinks will be served.
- Miami Gardens Workshop: 6 to 8 p.m., March 12 at Betty T. Ferguson Community Center, NW 199 Street and 27 Avenue, Miami Gardens.

Webinar: If you’re looking for nuts-and-bolts tips on how to create a great submission, this webinar is for you. The Miami Foundation staff will cover everything from how to craft the best submission to the Challenge timeline. We’ll also field your questions.
