Leap into Generosity: Building a Greater Miami Together

Every four years, we’re gifted an extra day on our calendars – A Leap Day! Being given the rare gift of extra time, our team decided to “leap” at the opportunity to give back to our community on this special day. The Miami Foundation team decided to spend Leap Day doing garden restoration in partnership with local leaders at the Belafonte Tacolcy Center. Located on a 3.5-acre City of Miami Park in the heart of Liberty City, The Belafonte Tacolcy Center is a safe haven for children, youth, young adults, families, and mentors to come together in a variety of activities to strengthen the bonds and skills that produce healthy, educated, confident and compassionate leaders of tomorrow. 

We’re excited for the opportunity to practice generosity through the extension of our time, and we invite you to do the same. Here are some extra chances to show love to Greater Miami in the coming weeks:

Serve dinner to 300 residents at Chapman Partnership in Homestead

Join a clean-up day at Teen Up-Ward Bound to support staff in beautifying and cleaning their spaces

Time: 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
