Meredith Hector

Director of Talent

 

Meredith Hector is the Director of Talent.  She ensures The Miami Foundation has a world-class team and operating systems with an emphasis on compliance, hiring management, professional development, and culture building. She is passionate about enabling smart, talented people to do their best work. She is a Society of Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) and holds a master’s and bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Massachusetts.

 

Meredith has extensive experience in philanthropy and higher education.  She spent nearly 19 years at the Knight Foundation in successfully responsible roles in administration, operations, grant making and most recently, as their director of human resources. Prior to her work at the Knight Foundation, Meredith served for nearly five years as the coordinator of the McNair Graduate Opportunity Program at the University of New Hampshire.  She wrote and administered the $1M multi-year grant from the federal government that funded the program, recruited student participants and faculty mentors and managed day-to day program operations.

 

Outside of her foundation work, Meredith, and her husband Hector work to preserve, protect and promote purebred dogs as members and officers of several local and national breed clubs and as AKC licensed dog show judges.
