Senior Programs Associate
Grace Torres is the Senior Programs Associate at The Miami Foundation. She leads the Foundation’s Scholarships portfolio focused on helping students gain access to higher education. Grace is a proud graduate of Miami-Dade Public Schools and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Beloit College and a Master of Arts in Museum Studies from Johns Hopkins University.
Before joining the Foundation, Grace was the Programs Director for Code/Art, a non-profit whose mission is to increase the number of girls studying computer science by delighting and inspiring them with the creative possibilities of computer programming.
Before joining Code/Art in 2020, Grace was the Manager of School Programs at the Perez Art Museum Miami (PAMM). In this role, she developed and led the Knight Schools program that included K-12 tours, educator workshops, digital education materials, and outreach efforts. With the help of a dynamic and diverse team of Teaching Artists, PAMM welcomed over 19,000 K-12 students on tours each school year. During her tenure at PAMM, the Knight Schools program was the recipient of many awards including the Superintendent’s Choice Award for Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS Community Partners Recognition Ceremony in 2017 and the Outstanding Community Partner Award in Fairness at M-DCPS Values Matter Miami for 2019.
Grace also volunteers for several local organizations including The Fund 4 Design and Art Education and CSTA (Computer Science Teacher Association) Miami. Through her work, Grace seeks to help the residents of Miami-Dade County expand their possibilities and reach for a brighter future.
