Brenda Morrison

Open For Business Associate

 

Brenda Morrison is the Open for Business Associate at the Miami Foundation. In her role, Brenda leads outreach and engagement for the Miami Open for Business program. The Miami Open for Business program aims to empower historically underserved nonprofits and small businesses to build generational wealth and resilience by purchasing and owning critical business assets, such as property, equipment, and technology. Before the Foundation, Brenda served as an aide to several elected officials, including former U.S. Senator Bill Nelson and Lauderhill City Commissioner Melissa P. Dunn. Brenda worked on several community initiatives, including a business incubator program for small business owners & addressing racial health disparities through the social determinants of health. Brenda holds an Associate in Arts degree from Broward College, a Bachelor’s in Political Science from Florida International University, and a Master’s in Public Administration from Nova Southeastern University. Brenda is passionate about empowering young professionals and the community to become change agents within their communities. She volunteers with the Urban League of Broward County’s Young Professionals Network in her spare time.
