OPPORTUNITIES TURNING PASSION INTO ACTION

The Jorge M. Pérez Family Foundation is interested in investing in innovative, groundbreaking programs and initiatives in Miami-Dade County in the areas of Arts & Culture, Health & Wellbeing, Education, Economic Development, and Environment. The Miami Foundation works with the family to develop a framework for grantmaking to address these areas of interest. Since May 2015, the Foundation has awarded 265 grants and has invested and committed $23 million to scaling impact organizations in Miami.

Below please find information about the Foundation’s current grantees as well as open grant opportunities. Proposals to the Foundation are by invite only unless otherwise noted. If you would like to connect with the Foundation, please send an email to Belissa Alvarez, director of The Jorge M. Pérez Family Foundation.

Pérez CreARTE Grants Program

CreARTE will not be open for submissions in 2022 as all of the 2021 investments were made as multi-year commitments. The team will spend 2022 building the capacity of the current grantees and refining the program to be re-launched in 2023.  The Foundation is not accepting unsolicited proposals at this point in time.

The Jorge M. Pérez Family Foundation aims to develop South Florida as a world-class urban center. A thriving, equitable arts community is essential to making Greater Miami a vibrant, connected and culturally engaging place to live. Since the program launched in 2019, the CreARTE Program has invested more than $5 million in Miami-Dade organizations working to cultivate this ecosystem by expanding residents’ access to the arts and making our city a global hub for artistic excellence.

The Foundation believes that effective arts education can inspire creative development in local youth, drive a lifelong interest in and appreciation for the arts, and build audiences for the future. The Foundation
seeks to support top artistic talent and attract artists to Miami by creating local fellowship and residency programs.

Through our investments, we want to provide capital and support for exemplary organizations to embrace artistic risk-taking, expand the diversity of creative experiences and audiences, and present work that inspires with its excellence and relevance.
