Miami Connected aims to make Greater Miami the most technologically inclusive and equitable community in the nation. This collective impact initiative, led by The Miami Foundation and Achieve Miami, is working to bridge the digital divide by increasing access to at-home broadband internet, digital skills training, and career pathways in tech.
Currently, more than one in five Miami-Dade County residents do not have broadband internet at home, and Miami is the second least-connected large city in the United States. Internet access at home is as essential as running water and electricity – without it, families are functionally cut off from opportunities. Together we can solve this and build upon internet access to expand access to the skill-building and career opportunities that will empower all families to thrive in our vibrant tech economy.
Miami Connected is made possible through a variety of public, private, philanthropic, and community partners – this is a recipe for far-reaching, lasting impact. Our goal is to reach 90,000 community members through this initiative, and we have almost everything we need but still have $2.2 million to raise – that’s where you come in. Join us in making a transformational impact that will shape our community for years to come.
