Our year-end celebration, Building Community through Leadership and Philanthropy honored Ruth and Richard Shack with the announcement of The Ruth and Richard Shack Society. This new Society honors the vision and legacy of the Shacks by recognizing Fundholders who have contributed $1 million or more to The Miami Foundation.

 


 

Bridge Builder Luncheon

On June 21, 2011 we hosted our first Bridging Generosity, Leadership and Grantmaking luncheon to highlight the contributions our Community Grants program invests in effective organizations that share our vision in building a Greater Miami. The support Community Grants provides enables organizations to deliver successful programs and services.

 


 

Mayoral Policy Fourm: The Runoff

The Miami Foundation hosted a second Mayoral Policy Forum on June 8, 2011 at The University of Miami, Newman Alumni Center with Commissioner Carlos Gimenez and Mayor Julio Robaina.

 


 

Mayoral Policy Forum

The Miami Foundation, Univeristy of Miami, CBS 4,The Miami Herald and El Nuevo Herald hosted a mayoral policy forum on Tuesday, May 3rd. All eleven candidates for mayor participated. The Forum panelists included the host of WLRN's The Florida Roundup, Phil Latzman and The Miami Herald's Editorial Page Editor, Myriam Marquez. Jawan Strader from CBS 4 moderated.

 


 

Our Brand Launch

On November 10, 2010 The Miami Foundation celebrated the launch of a new name, new image and new web site.

 


 

Thomas Armour Youth Ballet Outreach at Morningside Elementary

Established in 1967, The Miami Foundation strives every day to fulfill one fundamental mission: to build a greater Miami. The Miami Foundation proudly supports the Thomas Armour Youth Ballet program in their mission to serve children in Miami-Dade county through arts education.
