On the morning of August 14, 2021, a 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck the southern peninsula of Haiti. For those looking to help our friends in Haiti, we encourage you to invest in Haitian-led organizations and grassroots organizations that already have relationships, context, and commitment on the ground.
A growing list of trusted partner organizations providing relief efforts can be found here.
Together with our partner community foundations – the Coral Gables Community Foundation and the Key Biscayne Community Foundation – we have launched a fund to help those impacted by the devastating building collapse in Surfside, Florida. Miami has come together as one to support our fellow residents and the outpouring of support from our local partners and from the global community has been overwhelming.
You can find all updates on the Support Surfside Fund at SupportSurfside.org.
In June 2020, we launched The Racial Equity Fund to address the persistent systemic racism in America and our community. Thanks to our generous donors and partners, we have multiplied our initial investment tenfold to provide support for organizations and individuals on–the-ground. Watch The State of Black Philanthropy to hear from our grantees and learn how you can get involved. (Pictured: S.O.U.L Sisters Leadership Collective)
